Build your network: An internship is the perfect opportunity to build your professional network. While you’ll spend much of your time in the office, you’ll have the opportunity to meet industry professionals, attend events and use your co-workers are references when applying to future jobs.
Some extra spending money: Who doesn’t need a little extra spending money! An internship, while a very valuable learning experience, can also help thicken your wallet. And contrary to popular belief, most internships ARE paid!
Make the most of your time outside the classroom: It’s time to be productive! An internship will shake up your class routine and, in many cases, make you more productive. If you’re one who tends to put off your homework and spend the day on Netflix (we know you’re out there), you may find spending 15-20 hours a week working will cut down on the time you spend procrastinating.
Build your resume: An internship, at a startup or corporation, is the best way to build your resume. Aside from the skills you learn in the classroom and in student clubs/organizations, internships give you the perfect opportunity to put what you’re learning to the test and learn in a professional setting. You’ll also gain some references while you’re at it!
