The slide deck for the workshop is power-packed with fantastic information, so make sure you check it out, take notes and try a few things. She asked each attendee where (s)he is interning this summer and what (s)he knows about sales and marketing so she could tailor the content and use relatable, real-time examples.
Here are some highlights in 3’s.
Topics she covered:
- Social Media
- Google Analytics
Tools we practiced:
- Google AdWords
Tips from Lora:
- Marketing for the future isn’t just selling the product or service, it’s selling trust because your customers need to know you’ll be able to deliver today and in the future.
- Find your buyers before you start marketing because otherwise you don’t know to whom you’re marketing.
- Talk to your customers! We live in a data-driven world so leverage data to develop hypotheses and then test them with living, breathing customers.
As for those real examples? Lora and attendees riffed on marketing and lead gen challenges for companies like DropZone for Veterans and Cuseum, so we could practice applying principles and tools as we learned them.
